About Tulamben Beach

Tulamben Beach is internationally renowned as one of the world's top diving destinations, located on the northeastern coast of Bali. The main attraction is the USAT Liberty shipwreck, a WWII cargo ship that lies just 30 meters from the shore in crystal-clear waters.

The USAT Liberty was torpedoed by a Japanese submarine in 1942 and was beached at Tulamben. A volcanic eruption in 1963 pushed the wreck into deeper water, creating one of the most accessible shipwreck dives in the world. The wreck is now home to an incredible variety of marine life.

Whether you're a certified diver exploring the shipwreck's interior, a snorkeler discovering colorful fish around the shallow sections, or a beach lover enjoying the unique black volcanic sand, Tulamben offers an unforgettable underwater adventure.
